The workbook includes activities related to orientation to therapy, psycho-education on trauma, relaxation techniques, feelings identification, thought stopping, cognitive processing, creating a trauma narrative, in vivo mastery of trauma reminders, conjoint sessions, enhancing future safety and development, and goal setting.

The workbook encourages therapists to work individually with the child and then separately with the parent to align the therapeutic process. Sharing the child’s completed workbook activities with the parent can foster understanding and empathy. Homework activities may be assigned to both the child and the parent based on their needs and progress.
